Moulding - Hand Lay Up

We can mould very thin wall sections from materials with high electrical insulation and good mechanical strength. Through our proactive Research and Development approach we have developed specialist methods to mould thin sections in ‘hybrid’ materials that can be totally impervious to moisture, or can have encapsulated metals or other materials included to provide improved mechanical, electrical or thermal properties.

This process allows us to mould pre-impregnated materials with a variety of resin matrix. The materials can be as different as polyester glass, phenolic, unidirectional carbon epoxy, or even Kevlar for maximum strength.

Although not all products are suited to this type of moulding, when there is a need for components in materials that will be as strong but light and less costly than metal components and castings, this process can be the only choice.

This process can be used for prototyping as well as production, as the moulded parts can also be machined to meet the application’s requirements.
